Top Resort for Wellness – COMO, Cocoa Island

TURQUOISE WATER & TROPICAL WORKOUTS

After a quick 16 hour turnaround from our trip to Cabo, we started on our adventure to the Maldives (one of my top bucket list destinations) that took more than 30 hours of travel between flights, layovers, boat rides and broken engines to get to.

The wait was worth in when we stepped onto the tranquil Como Cocoa Island and were treated with a warm towel and a welcome drink out of a coconut.

The island has a very exclusive feel with only 33 rooms and can be walked around in less than 15 minutes.  The staff welcomed us as one of there own and brought us to one of the iconic over the ocean villas that took our breathe away.

After getting settled in we walked over to the only restaurant on the island named Ufaa for some lunch.   Lets just say the food was so good here we understand why there's only one place to eat.  The menu is changed everyday of the week as well to keep your options open.  We particularly enjoyed the Como Shambhala healthy options menu which had some of the best wellness food we've experienced.

After a lunch we decided it was time to get to work despite being on a time zone from the other side of the world.  The weather was decent and we didn't want to miss any opportunities.  After a couple drone shots and a workout, the weather turned halting all production.

As passing rain, wind and thunderstorms aren't uncommon for the tropics, we took advantage of and didn't let it hold us back.  2 days of wind and rain were filled with breakfast on our Villa patio bed, a wonderful massage at the Como Spa, a date in the hydro pool, gym workouts, a game of chess, many delicious meals in at Ufaa restaurant, and managed to take two long naps!  The weather was a blessing and with the wellness features of the resort we actually felt rejuvenated for once on a work vacation.

Our last day on the island we woke up to no rain which was an improvement and decided to have a walk out on the island sandbar which stretches 1/4 mile into the ocean.  We saw all types of reef fish, baby white tip sharks and birds along the walk.  As the walk ended the sun finally decided to make an appearance and we forwent breakfast to run and get our camera equipment to shoot an unreal workout video.  We took full advantage of the sun getting content, snorkeling, enjoying lunch outdoors and flying the drone for some amazing shots.

We were torn to leave the island with the sun shining as it made a huge and lasting impression on us despite the uncooperative Mother Nature.  We both put Como Coco Island in the top 3 hotels we have ever stayed at.  If you love exceptional service, tasty local cuisine, a small island feel, and a location that has mastered the concept of wellness than this is your place.  Stay tuned for our adventures on some other island in the Maldives!
