SEA, SAND, AND SUN IN MEXICO

SEA, SAND, AND SUN IN MEXICO

SEA, SAND, AND SUN IN MEXICO

For me, a trip to Mexico never disappoints, but this time around, I was with the best boyfriend ever and we were making workouts for all of you! Getting off ferry, we jumped into a taxi that took us to our hotel. Traveler tip: always organize your transportation beforehand so that you get accurate pricing and don't mess up your schedule!

This time around, we were off to a slightly bigger hotel, which isn't what we usually
go for. So we weren't quite sure what we were to expect! Yet as we approached the new resort, the Grand Velas, we were awestruck. Either side of the entrance had white stone platforms which we drove through. I'm talking massive columns that were both probably nearly 50 feet tall and 300ft wide!! Going through the main entrance alone was a 3-minute taxi ride, which delighted our eyes with fabulous sights and luxury.

There are actually three parts to the Grand Velas' resort. The first is a Zen area, which is more in the jungle part of the environment and is suitable for kids. Second is the adults-only area on the beach, and the third part is also on the beach but it's for adults and kids.

The hotel was so clean and professional. We were welcomed right away and given a tour of the hotel and grounds - the spa, the restaurant, the pool...no perk was spared! The staff at Grand Velas really covered their bases. We were then escorted to our room. By the way, every guest at the hotel gets their own concierge; how cool is that? This hotel was definitely a great choice! Our concierge was so courteous and took our reservations at the restaurants we wanted to dine at during our stay. He was also able to help with any rides to each hotel, booking a rental care and basically anything we needed!

After that, we began to film a workout. We did it right outside our room and we had a nice ocean view. This trip was already well under way! The same night, we went to the French restaurant at the Grand Velas. We had not one, but two waiters who took wonderful care of us, and they made great recommendations as to what to eat. We just wanted to get a really nice French dining experience, so we asked the waiters to suggest some delicious and traditional French cuisine. We had snails and other exquisite food. The waiters perfectly paired each dish with the right wine. Yum! You can see my full review of the restaurant here!

It was an early night, because we wanted to spend the next day on an exploration! The hotel organized a rental car for us, which was ready and waiting as soon as we stepped out of our room the next morning. We drove to see the Mayan ruins - absolutely breathtaking, and a must-see site when in Mexico. We decided to do some filming while there, but once the tripod came out, the guards at the ruins asked what we were doing.

"Oh, just some recording for YouTube," the boyfriend blurted out. And that was the end of our time at the ruins. Before that happened though, we walked along the little beach area at the ruins, which was nice and pleasant.

After that, we went to the town of Tulum, where I have a friend! It's very eco-friendly and has sort of hippie vibes...yoga and delicious organic food. I highly recommend this spot, and I myself have been there several times. The easy-going atmosphere keeps me coming back!

After Tulum, we decided to spend some time in the water at the cenotes. The sea here is so clear; people dive, snorkel, and just enjoy the pristine waters. We got some nice footage for the vlog, too! Then we headed over to the zen pool back at the Grand Velas. We filmed a couple of workouts there, which you might have seen on my YouTube channel!

That night, we had dinner at the pairing restaurant at the Grand Velas. It was one of the most incredible dining experiences of my life, and I wrote a separate blog all about it - be sure to check it out here! After dinner, we hit the bar next to the zen pool. There are drinks, dancing, and fun times! After dancing the night away, we were quite exhausted, so we slept very well!

The following morning we were up bright and early because we wanted to film a final video at the hotel. Afterwards, we just relaxed by the pool with some food. Oh, how we wished we had one more night there! We had finally taken a 5 minute break from filming and running around, all we wanted to do was enjoy this incredible hotel. Isn't that how it always goes though? You stay somewhere and you get to the last day and realize that you really wish you had just one more night. The boyfriend and I sometimes forget that when we travel, a good chunk of our time is spent doing work (filming workouts, organizing the equipment, etc.) No complaints, of course, but we were dying for one more day at the Grand Velas!

The top perks of the hotel were definitely the food, the cool swim-up bar, and for families, the nannies and age-appropriate entertainment for kids. For an all-inclusive hotel, I was blown away by how spot-on everything was. Finally, the time came to pack up, hit the airport, and get prepared for our next trip! Be sure to comment on our blog and vlog, we love to hear from you!

Hands up for it being Monday and new week! ???????? bikini by @granacom #granaworld #MakeSummerLast
