Dorm Room Esstenials for a Healthy Lifestyle

As the school bell rings - we start our new routine! What're your goals for the new semester? With this fresh start, it's the perfect time to shift our mindset to create a healthy lifestyle. As you’re doing your back-to-school shopping - there are some stable items that your gonna want in your dorm room or around the house! Here is a list of my MUST have dorm room essentials for a healthy lifestyle:   

 

With group projects and an active social scene, it’s tough to get alone time in when we go off to college! Take some time for you and journal all of your new experiences! Journaling gets all of the emotions we’re holding in out of our head and onto a piece of paper. Sometimes when we don’t have time to reflect and recharge, we burn out very fast. Also - you’re gonna wanna remember all of the amazing memories your making & you can document your personal growth throughout your semester. 

 

Most of the time when we’re in college, money and time is very tight! You don’t have to break the bank on an expensive gym membership to get a good workout in. Just invest 30 minutes a day to feel the BURN. My resistance bands are perfect for at-home workouts! Especially since space is limited in a dorm room - they’re so small and light! 

 

How we wake up in the morning is gonna set the tone on how we take on the day. Do you get up in a panic with the loud and obnoxious phone ringer? Waking up frazzled and groggy isn’t gonna help with the morning brain fog. I have an alarm clock that wakes me up by gradually lighting up the room with the soft noise of birds chirping. Sounds lovely right? It’ll be very helpful when you have to wake up early & study for finals. 

  

Put down the history book - and pick up a book that’s gonna help you on a deeper level! Yes, you should keep studying! Although, as we learn in a classroom, it’s equally as important that we learn about ourselves. Finding a personal development book gives us a fresh & positive outlook. Next year, you can purchase my book! I’d love to help you become the best version of YOU! 

  

You’re gonna be balling on a budget! Your health is the most important thing you need to invest in. Whenever you go to the market, buy healthy snacks that you enjoy. Apples, yogurt, cottage cheese & fruit are all affordable snacks that fuel your body with proper nutrition. If you’re on a meal plan - try to find healthy alternatives!

   

The energy of the people you let into your space is going to create its atmosphere. If you want to live in a healthy environment, invite people who bring you up. If they don’t help you grow - let them GO! You’re an average of the 5 people you spend the most time with - so choose wisely.
