Change your environment for better habits!

It's not always easy to think about how an environment could be limiting you or preventing you from leading a more positive life - I'm here to say that it will be ok, as long as you make the decision to change! There is some way that each of us can improve our habits for the better. What is obstructing your vision of the best possible future? 

 

Location means a lot! Are your weekends made up of bars, clubs, etc? While it's not always bad to get out for a night on the town, the places where you spend your time means that energy is being spent there. If you're trying to change your environment for more positive habits, you'll think about whether a party-centric lifestyle is going to help you reach goals. The same goes for staying home and rarely leaving/being active: are you growing and learning as a person when you live this way?

 

If you're thinking about editing some aspect of your life, think about what's holding you back from following through. For example, why do you want to go out every night? Is it because there's some other void in your life that's not being fulfilled? Do you crave interaction with others? Consider whether your actions are healthy or inhibiting - then make the decision to CHANGE! If your environment isn't helping you become the best version of yourself, then why are you living this way?

 

The people who you surround yourself with on a regular basis are a huge part of your development. Family, friends, boyfriends/girlfriends, whoever! Do these people encourage you to be ambitious, or do they hold you back (maybe even in an unconscious way)? If someone makes you feel anxious or uninspired, it's time to evaluate how this relationship could be costing you a better future. Don't limit yourself because of others, and if you don't have anyone's support, be your own advocate! My nutrition coaches are such a source of positivity for me, and we share each other's successes as if each victory were personal to us - I always look forward to our time together!
