Tips for HOT weather workouts:

With record-breaking heatwaves around the world, how in the hell are we supposed to work out? Breaking a sweat is one thing - but breaking yourself is not the goal! If you love to exercise outside, you might wanna be extra cautious of the extreme weather this summer! That doesn’t mean we have to slack off with our fitness routine in the hot months - just change it up a bit! Here are some tips to workout in the summer heat: 

 

As the temperature changes, our clothing needs to change too. In this case, we want them to be light and breathable. The more clothing that you put on, the more energy you drain! To withstand the heat, you’ll wanna wear cotton or sweat-wicking attire. Whichever fits your budget, you’ll be glad you made the investment. 

 

They say that timing is everything - and that’s extremely true when it comes to working out in the heat! 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. is known to be the hottest time of the day during the summer months. If you wanna get the most out of your workout, you should avoid this time slot! The best time to feel the BURN in the summer is either early in the morning or around sunset. 

 

You need to drink water all day, every day that you spend time in the sun! That’s including before, during, and after your workout. Drinking water helps prevents dizziness, cramps, and headaches. During your workout, I suggest that you drink around 5 oz of water every 10 to 15 minutes! 


If the weatherman says “heat warning” - it’s best to stay inside! You can BURN many calories at your local gym or at home. If you need some workout inspo, check out my BURN program! ALWAYS listen to your body - it’s talking to you for a reason! If you feel like you’re about to pass out, then you probably will. If you feel like you’re going to throw up, then you probably will if you keep pushing yourself. You don’t want one workout to stop you from working out altogether. If you feel uneasy, take a break and you can always come back to the workout when you feel 100%!
