FOR STRONG & TONED ARMS
That last Intense Cardio workout got us prepared to keep burning fat - now we're shifting focus to the arm area! Upper body strength is important for performing everyday activities, so I'm going to help you get fit while improving flexibility, mobility, and range of motion!
WHY IS UPPER BODY STRENGTH SO IMPORTANT?
Muscles throughout the lower arm allow us to rotate our hands and to flex and extend the hand, wrist and forearm (the upper arm is also involved in some of those motions); these activities are essential to performing pushing and pulling motions. Muscles and joints in our shoulder give us the capability to move the arm in all directions, and a vast amount of daily activities would be limited by an inability to carry out, sometimes literally, functions of the shoulder. The muscles that connect upper limbs to the chest provide for flexion, rotation, and movement of arms toward or away from the body, while the muscles connecting upper limbs to the spinal column give us the ability to draw shoulders up, down, and back, as well as extend and rotate the arms.
